Painting the roses red, painting the shoes gray

Well, as it's said in our project brief, fashion should be considered top to toe, not neck to knee.

I bought super cheap shoes which are nicely going with my garments. Yet their colour is quite looking like my colour, I could see that they are slightly different, so I decided to paint them! It's such a surprise that this  crazy idea came up with me very naturally—I couldn't help myself humming the song from Alice in Wonderland.

Then, I'm stitching the shoes too.
The each stitch is corresponding to the garment which goes together.

Here's a fashion illustration I have done this afternoon..
That's not looking good but maybe fair enough as I'm an embroiderer not a fashion designer ??

Fitting

Today was the fitting day!
It's really nice to see how the dress look like on the real human body—not a mannequin!

===============================================
I have spent whole afternoon on my third garment..

Machine applique + free stitch + machine couching stitch

with the apron

still got more hand embroidery to do..EXCITING

11 February 2014

a week left.. and THREE garments to go.. Aghhhhhhhh!

Now I've started making the third one..
For the third look, I had two aprons both on the front and the back as it is often seen in Romanian folk costumes. The length is the same as the dress while the other two are little shorter.

Recently I've been making a short film for the fashion show, and visiting other disciplines' workshop to take some videos.. it's fun :)
