thumb up

a couple of days ago, I have got a post from my friend in Japan. She sent me bits and bobs which excite me. In especially, a little cute thimble caught my eyes! This is a Korean souvenir from her.
I think I am very lucky and happy to have been able to be friend with such a nice person. Not only her, but also many people around me—family, friends, teachers, and everyone else— are surely nice people. I need to appreciate this, and I should try to be a good person as well as they are!

By the way, after I drew smiles on my fingers, they supported my work throughout the day today.
It might be good idea when I am under the stress of work, unless I draw a creepy face by accident.

Sometimes, back of the embroidered, knitted, woven or even printed fabric shows interesting patterns. I think it is sort of a negative of a photograph, and that happen to be born with the positive. The reverse side is usually mess, or at least less beautiful than the front, but when you are lucky, you will find it delightful. That is like human. Even though the first impression of him is too normal, he may have more

things in his mind.

Foci design

For a lecture called Forum for Critical Inquiry, I will do a presentation of my design on this Wednesday. The design is that I got inspiration from an object in the GSA's archive.
We have visited the GSA's archive in the beginning of this month, and each of us chose an object to look into. Obviously it was quite hard to get information from very old object within only an hour, but I enjoyed it, because I could choose the one I liked. The object I have chosen is an embroidered bag(and a pincushion) made in Britain in the 17th century.

From this object, I made a design for children's crafts.
I translated the motives of a bird and flowers as simple as possible.

The design could be applied for children's crafts, such as cross stitching and HAMA beads.
